If you follow me on twitter, then you may know of my never ending Apple iPhone 4S case drama. Firstly, I wanted a Marc By Marc Jacobs Logo Cartridge case, secondly, It had to be Fresh Green, Red or Crow Grey, and thirdly as I was TRYING not to spend so much money before I found a permanent job, I honestly didn’t want to spend £35 on one!
Fortunately, it was sale season – Unfortunately I left it too late! I traipsed all around central London and stayed up till ridiculous hours trawling the web, only to find that all the Autumn/Winter stock had been recalled by Marc Jacobs! But wait! There was hope! Nordstrom, Bloomingdale and Saks had begun shipping to the UK, they had the colours I wanted in stock, and were less than half the price! Unfortunately I learned that shipping a case from the US to the UK costs more than the bloody case itself!
So where did I manage to get hold of one? Good ol’eBay! It was both fate and the results of weeks spent searching online like crack addict! The very day that I went into Selfridges and found they didn’t have any left in stock, was the day I found and bought a fluoro-lime version of the case online at 11.00pm for a bargain £6.50! And believe me it was meant to be, because while standing dressed in grey, looking like a spoilt child who didn’t get his way in the mens accessories department, I noticed more than a few fluorescent items dotted about the floor, and remembered my long ago love for wearing bright, highlighter colours.
Moral of the story no one really gives a sh*t about: Don’t lose hope, something better and brighter will come to you if you believe/If you see it, and you want it, GET IT BEFORE IT’S GONE!
P.S I’m upgrading to the iPhone 5 or 6 or whatever later this year, and I will HAPPILY part with my money for Javiér the Owl by Marc By Marc Jacobs!
I wanted the Owl/Zebra ones for AGES but I could never find them in stock anywhere in the UK! I’m not paying delivery and customs just to get an iPhone case from the USA… Although I’m very happy with my Nicopanda zombie atm.
If I had known I would have tweeted about you the link – Selfridges & Harvey Nichs had them online since the beginning of Jan.
The Nicopanda one is v. cool! I wanted a case from Opening Ceremony too but no way was I going to pay the ridiculous international delivery charge/tax. I found one in the UK store for £50 but my upgrade’s due soon & my mother wouldn’t appreciate a hand me down iPhone 4S with a F**K YOU B**TCH case…well, at least I don’t think she would…
